Progress Energy FL looks to lower rates

Progress Energy Florida plans to file a proposal to reduce rates by $15.08 per month per 1000 killowat hour for residential customers starting with the April 2009 billing cycle. Progress Energy Plans To Buy Power From Waste

Florida state regulators cleared the way for Progress Energy to buy 60 megawatts of power from a power plant that burns burning rubber tires, plastics, papers and other household waste. The waste is converted into a clean-burning gas, which is used to generate the power.
